This page highlights a selection of the women who lived or exhibited at the Club in the years before WWI, or were associated with its activities. The sheer number of extraordinary women affiliated with 4 rue de Chevreuse at the turn of the 20th century makes it impossible to offer a comprehensive overview of each artist's life and career. It is, however, important to note that many of these women have been overlooked in historical records, and even when they have been remembered, very little is written about their affiliation with the Girls' Art Club, which provided a springboard to their later career in the United States by bringing them into direct contact with the Parisian art world.
