SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS NETWORK (SDSN)

The Secretariat of the SDSN was housed at Reid Hall from 2013 - 2017. Launched by Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon in 2012, the network operates under the auspices of the UN secretary general. Working closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society, it mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. The secretariat is head by Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the SDSN and the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and Guido Schmidt-Traub, executive director of the Paris office.
